How We Research

Updated on

Every guide on Klezmer Juice starts with a simple question: which blender suits the person reading? A blender for a daily morning shake is a different buy from one for family soup night, so we begin with the job.

Here is what we do after that.

1. We start with what you blend

Smoothies, frozen fruit, ice, soups, sauces, nut butter and one-cup shakes each ask different things from a motor.

We look at how much you make at a time and how often. If your habits point toward one kind of blender, we say so.

2. We compare the specs

We check the numbers a maker lists: motor watts, jar or cup size, blade design, speed settings and presets, whether the jar is plastic or glass, and what comes in the box.

Wattage figures vary between brands, so we name the maker for every claim and don't treat one number as a verdict.

3. We read what buyers report

We look at what people say after weeks or months with a blender. We watch for patterns, like lids that leak, jars that cloud, motors that overheat and cups that are hard to clean.

A single bad review doesn't sink a blender. A pattern does.

4. We score each product

Our score weighs specs, features and buyer feedback against the job in the guide. A blender that scores high for smoothies may score lower in a guide about hot soup.

We spread scores out on purpose, and a 10 is rare.

5. We keep guides current

Makers change model numbers and stores drop products. Many blenders also have look-alike versions with near-identical names, so we check the model number of each one and link only new units.

We skip unknown brands with no track record and any model with a recall, and we check the maker's recall page before we recommend a blender. When we update a guide, the "Updated on" date at the top changes.

What our picks are not

Our picks come from research. They are not lab tests, and we don't claim to have used every blender we cover.

We don't give health or nutrition advice. Blenders have sharp blades and strong motors, so follow the maker's manual for every model, especially with hot liquids, ice and lids.
